Welt der Wölfe?
Sicher nicht die Welt der Wölfe, kann "Eiswolf.net" aber vielleicht ein kleines Fenster in die faszinierende Welt der Wölfe sein.Für mich begann das alles mit einem Spiel. Genauer gesagt einem Rollenspiel. Seit Monaten spielte ich einen Eisdrachen, doch plötzlich war eine kleinere Figur nötig. Ich entschied mich da ich keinen Menschen spielen wollte für einen Wolf. Weil ich ein reales Wesen natürlich auch möglichst real darstellen wollte begann ich zu forschen. Je mehr ich fand, desto größer wurde mein Wissensdurst. Heute ist aus dem einstigen Spiel ein handfestes, weitreichendes Interesse geworden, dass ich auf den folgenden Seiten vorstellen möchte.
Meine erste Begegnung mit realen Wölfen fand in Merzig bei Werner Freund statt, und ich freue mich stets darauf dorthin zurück zu kehren.
Da es natürlich nicht nur dort Wölfe gibt, wird es wohl nach und nach auch einige Bilder und Informationen aus Zoos geben, in denen Wölfe gehalten werden. Sicherlich auch mit dem Augenmerk auf wenigstens halbwegs artgerechte Tierhaltung.
Mehr durch Zufall und einen Bekannten wurde ich auf Schlittenhunde aufmerksam. Werner Freund nennt sie "Light-Wölfe" und ich denke damit ist er nah dran an dem was ein Schlittenhund ist. "Ein Schlittenhund bleibt selten allein" heißt es in Musherkreisen und so dauerte es nicht lange bis sich derer 4 in unserem neuen Garten einfanden.

My interest in wolves is based on the needs of a roleplay game it took part in. As my more fantastic side www.eisdrache.net shows I played and I am still playing an icedragon in various games and circles. It occured I had to be smaller for some reason and I did not wish to play a human being which transformation most dragons are capable of in fantastic realms. Because of my addiction to dogs and wildlife I chosed to play a wolf. In order to play naturally I started studies about wolf-behaviour and got attracted to this very intelligent and social beings. Let me try to introduce you into their world and maybe learn about them far from anxiety or even mystic shamanism.
First contact with the wolves I had in Merzig with Werner Freund who runs withs wolves for several years now. I try to keep up visiting him and his wolves frequently.
Of course its not the only place to meet wolves in germany. In cooperation with the wolfmagazin I will collect informations about zoos having wolves and present my impressions. Of course I will have a special look on a species-appropriate keeping of the wolves.
While getting in touch with other wolf-related people I got introduced to sleddogs (Schlittenhunde). Werner Freund calls them "light-wolves" and I think hes not wrong with that view on sleddogs. Many Mushers say: "A sleddog does not stay lonely for long." And if to prove it I got 4 of them around me soon.
